We’re hiring a Director of Civil Engineering to lead civil and site engineering, develop internal capabilities, and help shape this engineering studio. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with department leadership, strategic planning, and long-term career advancement.

Rather than stepping into a large civil department, you’ll have the freedom to build a small studio, bringing engineering work in-house, developing a team, and establishing the processes that support continued growth.

The position initially balances civil engineering and management responsibilities, with a clear opportunity to transition into broader engineering leadership over time.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead civil engineering design for industrial and commercial development projects
• Oversee site planning, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and permitting
• Direct civil design and documentation utilizing Civil 3D
• Coordinate surveying, geotechnical services, regulatory approvals, and outside consultants
• Build and develop internal civil engineering capabilities, including hiring and mentoring technical staff
• Oversee engineering resources, project schedules, workloads, and technical quality
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, construction teams, and project managers to deliver integrated design-build facilities
• Establish engineering standards, improve workflows, and help guide the long-term direction of the engineering studio

What We’re Looking For:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Civil/site engineering and land development background of 10+ years with no upper limit
• Experience with site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and permitting
• Proficiency with Civil 3D
• Experience managing projects, mentoring technical professionals, leading small engineering teams
• Ability to oversee multiple projects, coordinate resources, and make sound technical decisions
• Interest in building and growing a small engineering department
